I am trying to install Hopsworks 1.3 on bare metal.
The hops::nn step fails with the following error:
hops__nn.log (/tmp/chef-solo/cookbooks/hops/providers/hdfs_directory.rb line 87):
STDERR: mkdir: Could not authenticate client with CN omega remote IP /192.168.86.30 and username hdfs for protocol org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.protocol.ClientProtocol
The server hostname is omega and the IP address of the server is 192.168.86.30.
What could be the cause of this?

This is not really answering your question in particular but maybe leading you in a direction to achieve your goal in general (my own wild guess: trying out the platform).
Use hopsworks.ai (https://hopsworks.ai/) and spin up a demo instance (available when you’ve signed up) hosted by us. It has more features available since it’s running our Enterprise Edition. The only con from a quicker evaluation perspective is that you should think twice about what data you use to try it out (if not only from our included tours).
