is possible to install hopsworks version 2.x (i.e. 2.3) to RHEL 8.x (i.e. 8.6) ?
Is this version supported by hopsworks 2.x?

Officially, it’s not supported yet for community.
If you feel very adventurous, there is a branch in the Chef cookbooks with most of the changes for Ubuntu20 to see the minor changes needed for RHEL 8.x.
You would need to create a new branch of the chef code, make the changes and update the cluster definition in hopsworks-installer.sh to try it out.
RHEL 8.x is coming this year, i expect.
