I still haven’t given up 
Another issue I always run into (though easy to fix) is that the user hdfs is not in /etc/cron.allow.
However, even after starting from scratch once more, I still end up with the error first reported above:
STDERR: mysql: [Warning] Using a password on the command line interface can be insecure.
Any news on that?
@Manuel: do you mean the validate_formatting issue? If so, can you please check what’s the status of the database (see my post above with the mgm-client command Installer crashes on fresh install) ?
We haven’t merged yet the fix for the other conda issue.
